A Club That Grows with Its Members
Established in 2005, the Palmares Members Community has steadily grown into a vibrant mix of residents and visiting golfers, with around 300 members from all over the world. British, Dutch, German, Scandinavian and Portuguese golfers are just some of those who call this club their own — drawn together by a shared love of the game and the unique atmosphere that Palmares offers.
What sets Palmares apart is its sense of openness. Whether you’re a local resident playing every week or a regular visitor escaping for part of the year, membership feels natural, inclusive and personal. It’s a place where names are remembered, tee times are shared, and new friendships are forged over fairways and after-game drinks.
Competitive, Yet Relaxed
The spirit of competition is alive and well at Palmares — but never at the cost of camaraderie. Weekly tournaments are held every Wednesday and Saturday, with a calendar that also includes themed events, friendly matches and social gatherings throughout the year.
Handicaps are officially managed through the Portuguese Golf Federation, ensuring a fair and enjoyable level of play for everyone. The variety of the 27-hole layout — split into the Alvor, Lagos and Praia loops — means no two rounds ever feel the same, even for long-time members.
Beyond the Course
While golf is the foundation, the Palmares members’ experience extends far beyond the game. The Clubhouse, with its panoramic views and relaxed ambience, is a favourite meeting point — whether for a celebratory lunch, a casual drink, or one of the many social events hosted throughout the year.
Members also enjoy exclusive benefits, including priority tee times, reduced green fees for guests, access to the short game areas, and preferential rates on buggies, lessons, and shop purchases. But more than perks, it’s the sense of shared ownership and familiarity that makes membership special.
A Community Rooted in Lagos, United by Golf
Lagos itself offers the perfect backdrop — a town rich in character, culture, and coastal charm. For members of Palmares, it means the chance to enjoy a round of golf in the morning and a stroll through historic streets or dinner by the marina in the evening.
In Palmares, the golfing spirit isn’t just about competition or technique. It’s about connection — to the land, to the game, and to one another. And for those who are part of it, the members community is more than a club — it’s home.
